As home to one of the greatest universities in the world, Ann Arbor is a city that is both intellectually robust and economically resilient.

You will find a rich variety of museums, galleries, and cultural opportunities to explore. Ann Arbor is located in southeastern Michigan, less than an hour from Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Most activities are accessible by foot or taxi. From Big Ten Football to our world-famous Art Fairs, you'll soon discover there's always something to do in Ann Arbor.

DINING

This city of 140,000 residents combines small-town charm with cosmopolitan energy. Main Street and neighboring avenues are the heart of the downtown district, replete with restaurants for every budget and taste, from pub food and ethnic eateries to five-star restaurants.

SHOPPING

Ann Arbor offers a wide variety of shops and boutiques near the Ross School campus, on Main Street, and in the historic Kerrytown district, which includes everything from fish markets to flower sellers to designer clothing stores. Kerrytown hosts the Farmer's Market each Saturday, and perhaps most importantly, the district is home to Zingerman's, Ann Arbor's famous New York-style deli, one of the most popular eateries in the city. Major department stores can be found at the nearby Briarwood Mall.

ENTERTAINMENT

Ann Arbor enjoys an international reputation for its vibrant music and performing arts scene. The University's Hill Auditorium is considered one of the top performing venues in the world. The Michigan Theater and the Ark draw top musical talent to downtown Ann Arbor. Other clubs and venues cater to a wide variety of tastes, from folk and bluegrass to jazz and rock.
