What do graduates need to wear?

All graduates must wear academic attire. Beginning in January 2019, this can be ordered online at herff.ly/umross.

Academic Attire may also be purchased at Ann Arbor locations; information regarding this is available here.

The cap and gowns for the Ross Commencement are the same as for University Commencement.

Some students have asked about purchasing "honor cords". While honor cords may be purchased from graduation gown vendors, be advised that final honors calculations are not computed until all grades are submitted (after commencement). This means that students who wish to purchase honor cords are doing so based on their own unofficial calculations, and wearing these honor cords does not carry any official recognition.

What is the dress code for guests?

There is no specific dress code for guests.
