Dean's Open House

Location: Ross School of Business - Davidson Winter Garden
Dean Scott DeRue will welcome all graduates and their guests at an open house welcome reception in the Davidson Winter Garden on Friday, May 1st. This reception will precede the Ross Commencement ceremony at Crisler Center.
To ensure that all graduates and guests can participate fully in this celebration, events staff will be posted at the northeast and southwest entrances of Crisler Center to assist those with limited mobility and direct to accessible seating areas. These guests are encouraged to be dropped off at the northeast (main) entrance of Crisler Center.
A limited number of handicapped parking spaces are available at Crisler Center. Guests are encouraged to arrive early, as parking is first-come, first-serve.
A sign language interpreter will be present and real-time captioning will be included in the ceremony.

For Dean's Open House at the Ross School
The gates to all structures on Central Campus will open on Friday (see detail below) and remain open throughout Commencement weekend. Parking enforcement in these structures will be suspended until the end of enforcement hours on Sunday.
Thursday, April 30: U-M parking structures at Fletcher, Hill, and Thayer streets and the Blue Area of the Palmer structure will be open at 9:00 a.m. for commencement guests.
Friday, May 1 – Sunday, May 5: All U-M parking lots and structures will be open to the public beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday through Sunday.
Note: parking structures in the campus core areas fill to capacity each business day. It is highly recommended that guests pay to park in nearby city structures located on Maynard St., Washington St., and Liberty St.
For Ross Commencement at Crisler Center
If arriving by car, guests are encouraged to find parking early, as parking around Crisler Center is limited. Parking enforcement within U-M lot on the Stephen M. Ross Athletic Campus will be suspended Friday - Sunday. Commencement guests are welcome to park in any available, unrestricted parking space around Crisler Center (blue, orange, yellow lots).
Directions to Crisler
Limited first-come, first-serve parking is also available at Pioneer High School located at the corner of Main St. & Stadium Blvd. (south west of Michigan Stadium).
Information for Guests
Tickets are not required for Ross Commencement and seating is not assigned. There is no dress code for guests.
Only graduates and platform party are permitted on the arena floor. We ask all graduates and their guests to clear the arena following the conclusion of the ceremony, as another commencement is scheduled to follow.
- Oversized bags (must be able to fit comfortably under your seat)
- Containers of any kind (including coolers, thermoses, and flasks)
- Aerosol and spray cans
- Flags with flagpoles
- Alcoholic beverages
- Video cameras and tripods
- Irritants (i.e. noise makers, air horns, etc.)
- Apparel or signage displaying profane or abusive language
Commencement Day Schedule
12:30 - 2:00pm - Dean's Open House at Ross School
2:30pm - Crisler Center doors open
3:15pm - Graduates and guests should be in their seats
3:30pm - Official commencement ceremony begins
5:45pm - Ceremony ends (approx.)
