Dean's Open House

Date: Friday, April 28, 2017
Location: Ross School of Business - Davidson Winter Garden
Time: 1:00 - 2:00pm

Dean Scott DeRue will welcome all graduates and their guests at an open house welcome reception in the Davidson Winter Garden on Friday, April 28th from 1:00 - 2:00pm. This reception will precede the Ross Commencement ceremony at Crisler Center.


ADA Accommodations

For Guests
To ensure that all graduates and guests can participate fully in this celebration, events staff will be posted at the northeast and southwest entrances of Crisler Center to assist those with limited mobility and direct to accessible seating areas. These guests are encouraged to be dropped off at the northeast (main) entrance of Crisler Center.

A limited number of handicapped parking spaces are available at Crisler Center. Guests are encouraged to arrive early, as parking is first-come, first-serve.

A sign language interpreter will be present and real-time captioning will be included in the ceremony.

Parking

For Dean's Open House at the Ross School
The gates to all structures on Central Campus will open on Friday (see detail below) and remain open throughout Commencement weekend. Parking enforcement in these structures will be suspended until the end of enforcement hours on Sunday. 
 
Palmer- Blue Area, Fletcher, Thayer: gates open Friday 9:00am through Sunday
Thompson, Hill, Church: gates open Friday 9:30am through Sunday
 
Note: parking structures in the campus core areas fill to capacity each business day. It is highly recommended that guests pay to park in nearby city structures located on Maynard St., Washington St., and Liberty St.
 
For Ross Commencement at Crisler Center
If arriving by car, guests are encouraged to find parking early, as parking around Crisler Center is limited. Parking enforcement on the Stephen M. Ross Athletic Campus will be suspended Friday - Sunday. Commencement guests are welcome to park in any available, unrestricted parking space around Crisler Center (blue, orange, yellow lots).
 
Limited first-come, first-serve parking is also available at Pioneer High School located at the corner of Main St & Stadium Blvd (south west of Michigan Stadium).
 
Please note: Stadium Blvd. between Main St. and Kipke Dr. will be closed for road improvements during Ross Commencement.
 

Information for Guests

Crisler Center doors will open to the public at 2:30pm; guests should be in their seats by 3:15pm. Tickets are not required for Ross Commencement and seating is not assigned. There is no dress code for guests.

Only graduates and platform party are permitted on the arena floor. We ask all graduates and their guests to clear the arena following the conclusion of the ceremony, as another commencement is scheduled to follow. 


Prohibited Items

  • Oversized bags (must be able to fit comfortably under your seat)
  • Containers of any kind (including coolers, thermoses, and flasks)
  • Aerosol and spray cans
  • Flags with flagpoles
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Video cameras and tripods
  • Irritants (i.e. noise makers, air horns, etc.)
  • Weapons
  • Apparel or signage displaying profane of abusive language

Commencement Day Schedule

1:00 - 2:00pm    Dean's Open House at Ross School
2:30pm                 Crisler Center doors open
3:15pm                  Graduates and guests should be in their seats
3:30pm                 Official commencement ceremony begins
5:45pm                 Ceremony ends (approx.)

Photography

Call Photography is the official commencement photographer for Ross School of Business and will be taking multiple images of every student as they cross the stage. Call Photography will send each student a link to their images using the email they provide within 24 hours of the ceremony. 

Graduates, please fill out the Call Photography's check-in form prior to graduation. Click here to access this form.
