Bharat N. Desai

Bharat Desai is Chairman and Co-founder of Syntel (NASDAQ: SYNT), a leading provider of Digital Modernization, Information Technology and Knowledge Services to Global 200 companies.

Syntel employs over 24,000 people globally with a market capitalization of ~$4 billion.

His family has established the Desai Sethi Family Foundation with a vision “to create a better world by encouraging education, entrepreneurship and wellness for citizens of the world”. The foundation supports entrepreneurship and innovation programs at Harvard University, IIT Bombay and the University of Michigan.

Bharat is a Member of the Dean’s Council at the Harvard Kennedy School and on the Visiting Committee at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He also serves as the Chairman of Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay Heritage Foundation.

Bharat holds an MBA in finance from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business, University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, India.
