Career Background

Bill Beckham retired from Procter and Gamble as Vice-President Finance, Physical Distribution. He is now an entrepreneur, launching D1 Training, a business that specializes in athletic training.

Bill had a highly successful career at P&G, rising to the level of Vice-President – Finance; where he specialized in Strategic Planning, Mergers and Acquisitions, Supply Chain, Project Management, Financial Analysis, Risk Management, and Organizational Development. Among his many career accomplishments, Bill was the Chief Financial Officer for two multi-billion-dollar businesses (Skin Care and Cosmetics). He led the development of the global strategy that made Olay one of P&G’s 25 billion-dollar brands.

While working in P&G’s Acquisitions & Divestitures organization, Bill led the $2.5 Billion divestiture of the Folgers business to the JM Smucker Company. He also acquired and divested multiple Beauty Care businesses for P&G.

Bill had extensive experience in P&G’s vast supply chain organization, working across procurement, manufacturing, and logistics. He successfully led efforts to reduce manufacturing costs by several billion dollars, improve cash flow via payment terms extensions, and launch large scale manufacturing and distribution facilities. Bill also played a key role in enabling P&G’s North America supply chain organization to meet the challenges of manufacturing and distributing product during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Upon retiring from P&G in June of 2022, Bill decided that he wanted to leverage his extensive corporate experience, along with his passion for physical fitness and athletic training to purchase the rights to establish two D1 Training franchises in the Cincinnati area. Cincinnati is a hotbed for competitive youth sports and physical fitness in general; thereby establishing a clear need for this business.

D1 Training is a business that specializes in inspiring and motivating athletes to achieve their goals. D1 provides an experience that mimics the athletic training that a high-level collegiate athlete receives. It has state-of-the art equipment, world-class strength and conditioning coaches, programs based on sports science, and a fun energizing training environment. D1 gives people the same experience they would get at any high-level university.

The business opens its doors in late-November. Right now, the focus is on building brand awareness, preselling memberships, completing construction, and hiring and training staff.

Currently, Bill serves on the Board of Trustees for Mt Notre Dame High School in Reading, Ohio where he also serves as the Advancement Committee chairperson.

Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University and an MBA from Michigan.
