Career Background

Nicole (Martin) Greenblatt is a Partner in the restructuring group at Kirkland & Ellis LLP where she counsels debtors, creditors, equity holders and investors in all aspects of complex corporate restructurings, including Chapter 11 cases, out-of-court restructurings, and special situation investments or acquisitions. Nicole has a broad range of experience across a number of industries, and has led companies such as Payless Shoe Source, The Reader’s Digest, Sbarro’s Pizza, Rue21 and Caesars Entertainment through complex chapter 11 reorganizations.

Nicole has been recognized as a leading lawyer by Chambers USA in each of its 2014-2022 editions with sources noting she is “an exceptional attorney,” who has a “very practical way of looking at things,” and is “incredibly straightforward and very responsive.” In 2021, Nicole was recognized by Benchmark Litigation as one of the “Top 250 Women in Litigation” and in 2018 she was profiled in Crain’s New York innagural list of the Best Women Attorneys in NYC. Nicole is a frequent guest lecturer and panelist at industry conferences. She serves on the Board of Directors of Her Justice and is an active member of the Leadership Council for the Tina’s Wish Foundation.

Nicole earned a BBA with Distinction from Michigan Ross in 1999 and a JD from Fordham University School of Law, cum laude, in 2002. Nicole and her husband Russell, who is also a Michigan graduate (1998) live in Port Washington, New York with their two children (Jason & Abby). The entire family are enthusiastic Michigan fans who enjoy frequent visits to Ann Arbor. Go Blue!
