Career Background

Tim serves as Vice Chairman of Fortress and is a member of its Investment and Leadership Committees. Prior to joining Fortress in March 2020, he served as chief executive officer and president of Wells Fargo & Company and a member of its Board of Directors from October 2016 until March 2019 and retired in June 2019.

Tim held a number of C-suite roles during his 32 year career at Wells including chief operating officer, chief financial officer, chief administrative officer, and as Head of Wholesale Banking. Prior to joining Wells Fargo in 1987, he began his banking career at Continental Illinois Bank in Chicago.

He earned his BA in economics and history, and his MBA in finance and accounting, both from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and is a member of its Ross School of Business Advisory Board. Tim is a member of the boards of The Irvine Company and Xapo Bank. He also serves on the Board of Trustees at The California Institute of Technology and chairs its investment committee and is on the board of overseers at The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens.
