Additional Personal Expenses

To aid in planning your budget, below are a list of additional expenses that aren’t covered by tuition and fees. The list has been compiled by current MBA students and the MBA Program Office and reflect previous years' costs; fees may vary for the coming year.


Besides the required course packs , all other expenses are optional. We hope this information will help you plan your budget.

Club MembershipVariable. Between a mix of professional and social clubs, it is not uncommon for students to spend between $300-$400 for clubs dues. Another option is rather than signing up for a club, there is the option to buy tickets for individual events rather than participate as a member for the year.
Professional Treks (Students may participate in multiple treks per year)

Average $500-$700 cost per trek (includes airfare, hotel, and transportation)

*Some clubs have an existing budget to cover a portion of these costs. 

Lockers$50 single hanging;  $25 cubby
UM Parking$71 (blue lots - after hours); $86 (orange lots);$241 (yellow lots); all prices are for annual permits

Och Fitness Center Membership

(Other UM on-campus recreation facilities are free to students)

$350 for one year membership; $175 per semester
Season Football Tickets$231

Personal Travel (e.g. spring break and other recreational travel)Varies from student to student

Other items you may want to consider budgeting for and may vary widely include: moving costs, winter gear, study abroad and global immersions, car insurance, social activities, case competition travel, summer housing for internships and recruiting.
