The Silicon Valley session is scheduled from Sunday, May 3 to Wednesday, June 3. Check-in begins at 3:00 pm. Students are expected to arrive in San Jose on May 3.
On May 4, an orientation and mandatory immigration check-in is scheduled from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. An immigration officer from the University’s International Center will be on site to facilitate the check-in. US Immigration Law requires those entering the US with an F-1 visa to check-in with a school official immediately upon arrival. If you fail to attend the May 4 check-in, you will be required to travel to Ann Arbor to check-in before beginning the Finance core course which will likely jeopardize your ability to complete the course as scheduled.
Rooms are reserved to check in on May 3 and check out on June 3. If you would like to check in early or stay later, you may be able to benefit from our group discount, subject to room availability. Please contact the Global MBA Office at [email protected] with your request in advance.

The Silicon Valley session will be held at the Hyatt House San Jose/Silicon Valley (HHS) in San Jose, California. HHS is located at the heart of Silicon Valley.
flight to SAN JOSE
There are three international airports in the San Francisco Bay area - San Francisco (SFO), San Jose (SJC) and Oakland (OAK).
All flights from Asia land at SFO. One exception, All Nippon Airways (ANA), offers a daily non-stop flight from Tokyo Narita (NRT) to San Jose Airport (SJC). As of October, 2019, flights leave NRT at 5 pm and arrive at SJC at 10:30 am. SJC is just about 5 Miles (8 Km) south of HHS while SFO is 31 Miles (50 Km) north. So the ANA flight could be a good option to students from Tokyo and those who plan to connect at Narita Airport.

For transportation from SFO to HHS, we recommend you to use car sharing service (Uber or Lyft). Uber and Lyft are heavily used in the Bay area. It is convenient and much cheaper than a taxi. The fare from SFO to HHS is about $60 for a ride with a small bag. If you haul large bags, request a large car which will cost about $30 more. The ride from SJC to HHS will cost about $20 and takes about 15 minutes. If you want to use Uber or Lyft, please install the app and link it to your credit card. You should also have a roaming service upon arrival.
Another factor to consider is rush hour traffic. Traffic on the expressway is very heavy in the bay area from 7:00 am to 10:00 am and 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. It takes about 40 minutes from SFO to HHS under normal traffic conditions but it can take well over one hour during rush hour. From SJC to HHS, no need to worry about traffic since the expressway is not used.
