Rooms are reserved to check in on March 27 and check out April 24. If you would like to check in early or stay later, you may be able to benefit from our group discount, subject to room availability. Please contact the Global MBA Office at [email protected] with your request in advance.
Please note that late March through mid-April is a busy tourist season in Japan for cherry blossom viewing and hotels fill quickly. If you plan to arrive earlier or extend your stay in Japan, make your hotel reservations as early as possible.
Facility
The Japan session is held at the Cross Wave Umeda (X-Wave) in Osaka, Japan. X-Wave is conveniently located in downtown Osaka, just a 10-minute walk from the Osaka Station.
FLIGHT TO OSAKA
Kansai International Airport (KIX) is the international airport of Metro Osaka and is located about 50 Km south of downtown Osaka.
There is another airport in Osaka. Osaka International Airport (ITM) which is also called Itami Airport is just 17 Km north of X-Wave. The airport name includes ‘international’ but currently they offer only domestic flights. So Itami Airport is not an option for non-Japanese students who plan to fly directly to Osaka but, for students who plan to transit from Tokyo Haneda or Fukuoka, it could be a consideration.
Airport TO X-WAVE
Taxi is most convenient but quite costly. A taxi directly from Kansai Airport to X-Wave takes about 50 minutes and the fare will be about 17,000 Yen (approximately $150).
Train and shuttle bus from Kansai Airport to Osaka Station are readily available. Both train and bus will take about one hour to Osaka Station. The bus fare is 1,550 Yen ($14). The train costs 1,200 – 1,600 Yen depending on the type of train. Detailed Kansai Airport transportation information is available at http://www.kansai-airport.or.jp/en/access/index.html.
From Osaka Station, we recommend taking a taxi to X-Wave. X-Wave is 1 km walk away and it takes about 10 to 15 min. However the route is quite complex and you can easily get lost. A taxi will take less than 10 minutes to reach X-Wave and the fare will be about 800 Yen ($7). Note that taxis accept credit card for payment.
For students flying in to Itami Airport, we recommend to use taxi. Taxi takes about 15 minutes to X-Wave and cost about 6,500 Yen.
Complete details, including maps, will be provided during the Korea Session.
