Hello everyone! My name is Andrew Mei, and I am a Master of Accounting student at Michigan Ross. I am originally from the Southwest side of Chicago, but am now in my fifth year living in Ann Arbor, having been an undergraduate business student here. During my undergrad years, I focused my BBA career around the intersection of business and social impact. I minored in Community Action and Social Change, am part of the Michigan Community Scholars Program, and am a fellow at the Center for Positive Organizations; these activities helped me understand more about using business to create change in people, organizations, amd communities. I strive to give back to the Ross community, as it has given me many opportunities in my educational career. I served as a BBA Ambassador and Career Development Peer Coach, helping students entering and exiting Ross respectively. I have also gone abroad with Ross twice: once to Croatia to study cross-cultural negotiation, and another time to China to study corporate strategy. This year, I serve as a Graduate Student Instructor for financial and managerial accounting (ACC300/301), as well as a teaching assistant for the BBA foundation course on buisness and leadership (BA200). Professionally, I have had expereicnes in the public and corporate accounting worlds in industries ranging from healthcare to tech. After rgaduation, I plan on joining the Assurance practice at PwC back in my hometown, where I can hopefully integrate my business and social impact education to make a greater difference in my communities. The MAcc program has allowed me to pursue not only a specialization in accounting, but opportunities to continue learning about other areas of business. It is a great community to be a part of, and one that will lead me to achieving my personal and perfossional goals. If you have any questions about the program, Michigan Ross, U-M, or anything else, please reach out! Go Blue!
