In addition to being a student in the Online MBA program at Ross, I wear several different hats. By day, I work at Fannie Mae in workforce strategy & analytics and by night I am the co-founder of a start-up named Paintru. My reason for pursuing an MBA was two-fold. I had been at Fannie Mae for five years and had the opportunity to move through a few different roles, from project manager to chief of staff, and recently made a career change into human capital analytics. As I mapped out my career aspirations, I soon realized I would need an MBA to gain further insights and to grow in the strategy and analytics space. Additionally, running a company requires a basic understanding of all areas of business - from accounting to marketing. It would allow me the opportunity to build a strong foundation through core courses and to also target development opportunities so that I would be able to run the business effectively.
I chose the Online MBA program at Ross because of the flexibility that the program offers as well as the program's reputation. The program allows me to continue to build my career in both my corporate and start-up worlds and also to apply the concepts I'm learning in real time. Although early in my Ross experience, I am excited to see how the program enables me to further develop myself and broaden my skill-set. The online program allows me to move at a pace that is both flexible but also rigorous in nature. The synchronous classes are very engaging and our class is made up of other passionate and like-minded professionals with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
