Emily Walainis
I am a Class of 2021 MBA candidate at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. I chose this program to contribute to and benefit from the diverse work experiences that my classmates are learning from on a daily basis. There is no better way to see what is out there and build my network!
I currently work in Strategy at Consumers Energy, a Michigan-based electric and gas utility. I am responsible for managing the 10-year strategic plan development for the gas and electric utility businesses and supporting organizations. I've also been working on our electric vehicle strategy which is focused on ensuring electric vehicles are successfully integrated into the electric grid for the benefit of all customers.
Prior to Consumers Energy, I worked at Atlas Energy L.P., an oil and gas exploration and production company, and Wells Fargo where I was an Investment Banking Analyst in the Leveraged Finance group.
I am passionate about mentoring the next generation and I'm currently a 'Big' sister to a 10-year-old girl through the Big Brothers Big Sister program. I enjoy sharing new experiences with my 'Little' and expanding her worldview. I have found the experience to be so impactful and rewarding that I joined the Board to expand my contribution.
