Hometown: Guaynabo, PR
Hey guys! It's great to know that you're considering the Ross School of Business! My name is Gabriel, I am a sophomore student concentrating in Strategy and minoring in French. I am from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, and saying this leads to many people asking me: "Why Michigan?". The first time I came to Michigan was in April of my senior year of high school for a tour after I had already been accepted. From the moment I stepped on campus I somehow felt at home. After my tour with a BBA Ambassador, I immediately decided I wanted U of M, and so far I can tell you it is the best decision I have ever made! Here in Ross there are so many opportunities to take advantage of in order to start your exploration into different careers and interests in and out of business. What excites me the most is the possibility of integrating my interests outside of business and applying the concepts in my business classes with the goal of creating a positive impact in society.
On campus, I am involved in other organizations on campus such as a professional business fraternity and the Michigan International Students Society. However, I am definitely planning on getting more involved in the Ross community, as I have heard many great things about the benefits you can get from the plethora of student organizations.
For me, it is an honor to be part of the Ross community and I strongly encourage you to explore!
As always, Go Blue!
What is one of your favorite places to travel? One of my favorite places to travel is my home, Puerto Rico, after a semester of Michigan weather. Besides being with family, the beaches there are beautiful and there are so many cool places I still haven't gone after living 19 years and counting.
Current Involvement: Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity, Outreach Ambassador, Michigan International Students Society
