Class of 2023

Prior to Ross, I spent most of my career as an engineer or a researcher. I received my Ph.D. degree in aerospace engineering from Virginia Tech, and I worked as a mechanical engineer for 6 years in the auto industry in both China and the US.

As an engineer, I saw many brilliant concepts, even prototypes missing the chance of having a real impact on this world. Some of them were just summarized in publications, and some just perished. Yet similar ideas were successfully commercialized years later by other people. Realizing engineering is not the only factor for the success of any product, I became more curious about business. In the meantime, I found my learning curve is getting flat as an auto engineer. Naturally, I started to look for new challenges.

When I decided to come back to school for an MBA, Ross became a no-brainer choice for me. The academic and career resources perfectly meet my needs. I enjoyed not only the knowledge but also the intellectual challenges I got in here. Besides, the weekend program is highly structured and efficient. Although it’s challenging to balance school, family, and work at the same time, the structure allows me to finish the program within two years like the full-time students.

Overall, the Ross journey has been an eye-opening experience for me, and I truly appreciate the time here. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I’d like to share my experience. Go Blue!
