Prior to Ross I worked as a program director at a nonprofit focused on gender and racial equity. Though I LOVED my role, I knew that I wanted a career that could impact others beyond the city limits of my work. With a passion for people, community impact, and creative problem solving; I confirmed that a career in Human Capital would best align my skills and purpose.
As someone pivoting careers, I knew that I needed a strong business academic courseload, where I would feel comfortable asking questions. I also knew I wanted a school that would allow me to travel in professional settings, as my long term goal is to work abroad at some point in my career. Ross values a growth mindset , and I found quickly that I could go to classmates or faculty for support without any judgement. Ross also provides opportunities like MAP and study abroad options that align with courses so that you can take full advantange of professional experience abroad.
I knew Ross was the right place for me when Bryan Johnson gave me a high five at a recruiting event and remembered me by name :) Ross felt like home- and the staff, faculty, and students welcomed me into the family.
In my first year I am most excited to broaden my understanding of human capital in the context of business and community, run in the Detroit Marathon with a group of Rossers, and complete my MAP project.
