Class of 2023

Minor: Art & Design

Hometown: Brooklyn, NY

Hey there! My name is Joan, and I am a Senior from Brooklyn, NY pursuing a BBA from Ross and a minor in Art & Design from STAMPS. Growing up, I loved to partake in creative hobbies such as painting and photography, and I wanted to intersect my passions in art with my interest in business by creating a direct, positive impact on society, which I found marketing to be the perfect intersection of both. At Ross, I am able to make my dream more tangible by the day through the nurturing community of faculty and students who have shaped my experiences as a BBA student.

Coming from a densely populated city like New York, I was pretty nervous and scared to be traveling to a state far away from home and my family. I had no idea what was in store for me in a college experience as a first generation student, but through opportunities like Ross Preview Weekend and Ross Summer Connection, I quickly grew accustomed to this new life and embraced the Go Blue! spirit. It's crazy to think that I am now in my final stretch as I work to complete my degree, but I couldn't have asked for a better experience than my time at Ross. From my BA200 professor who shaped my career interests to meeting so many of my amazing peers in classes and clubs, I have truly found my home away from home, as corny as that may sound. Even outside of Ross, I have found ways to continue my passions and make new friends by being a photographer running a side hustle on campus. I am super excited that you are interested in applying to Ross and would love to answer any questions you might have about the BBA program! Please feel free to reach out to me via email or stop by my office hours. Go Blue!
