Madeline Hauenstein

Maddy Hauenstein

Class of 2024

I come from an international development background focused on girl empowerment and economic growth in sub-Saharan Africa. My professional path is non-traditional, having spent time at the law firm King & Spalding, USAID, and a fashion start up, Talia & Nasya. I decided to get my MBA after working on the Presidential Initiative Prosper Africa, which focuses on increasing trade and investment between the United States and Africa. I realized that the private sector has the power to make long-lasting sustainable change. I wanted to attend a rigorous school that would grow my business acumen and leadership, have a strong emphasis on impact, and have strong, kind, and supportive culture.I  interned with Ecolab this summer working on market research in Chicagoland. Yes to the Midwest!

Now in my second year of business school, I can say I've had the best time at Michigan Ross! Ross has met or exceeded all my expectations. Some of my favorite moments have been Marketing Symposium, Crisis Challenge, MAP travel, Winter Formal, leading an MTrek to Egypt, and, of course, THE BUS.

Please feel free to reach out, especially if you are coming from a non-traditional background! (Undergraduate me would have been very confused if I told her I was going to business school.) I am also a runner, a cat mom, a meal prep junkie, and a family disappointment being a proud Wolverine from a family legacy of Buckeyes. Go Blue!
