Class of 2017

I took the scenic route to accounting. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a double major in Economics and Women's Studies, I spent some time working in medical publishing. Eventually I decided I wanted to change careers, so I came to Ross to do a Master's in Accounting. I chose Ross because I felt that its reputation for academic excellence would offer me the best possible preparation for my new career. I also appreciate that the program is flexible enough that there is an opportunity to take MBA electives and foreign language electives, allowing me to take Mandarin, a language I had been trying to learn on my own for years.

Recruiting was a bit of a whirlwind at the beginning of the program because in addition to class during the day, there were recruiting events most nights for the first few weeks. However, I learned a lot and was very impressed with how much support Ross offered in helping students connect with employers to secure jobs after graduation.

As a nontraditional student, at first I was a little concerned about fitting in and making the adjustment back to student life, but everyone was very welcoming and supportive. Making the decision to go back to school at Ross and invest in a new career feels like one of the best things I've ever done for myself.
