Maya Byrd-Couch

I'm originally from the Detroit Metro Area and went to undergrad at Howard University. Before Ross I worked in the pharmaceutical industry where I spent several years working in corporate finance before pivoting my career to Human Resources (HR). I found my true passion in HR and I decided to pursue to business school to broaden my business acumen in preparation for stepping into an HR leadership role. As I explored business schools, what drew me to Ross was the opportunity to have hands-on learning through offerings like MAP, the unique ways to be involved in student life, and the supportive culture. As an HR professional, I was also drawn to the ability to be involved with the Center for Positive Organizations which is the leading global center for the science of designing and sustaining thriving organizations. My time at Ross has delivered everything I was hoping for and more. I'm excited to be serving as a Student Ambassador to pay forward the energy and care that was poured into me by the Ross community while I was going through my school exploration and application process. I look forward to sharing with you what makes this community so special!
