Hello, I'm Michael McBroom and I'm pursuing an Online MBA through Ross. I grew up in Michigan, and after graduating from Michigan State, I moved to Washington, DC where I started working for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). I worked in operations for three years before joining USAID's foreign service as a program officer in 2013. Since joining the foreign service, I have lived in Mali, Afghanistan, and currently, Tanzania. As a program officer, my job presents daily challenges across several areas: budget; strategy; communications and outreach; monitoring and evaluation; and partnerships. At USAID, we implement programs that seek to alleviate poverty, improve health and education outcomes, and build resilient societies. In 2016, I took a two year break from USAID and worked in marketing and business development role for a large, regional accounting and consulting firm in Michigan. I'm excited about the opportunities a Ross MBA offers as I continue to advance in my current role, and potentially look at a career shift in the future. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time and traveling with my wife and two daughters (4 and 2), sailing, playing squash, and running.
