Minor: German and Applied Statistics
Hometown: Woodhaven, Michigan
Hi everyone! My name is Shan Shan (shawn shawn), and I am so excited to see that you are considering the Ross School of Business! I am currently a senior concentrating in Finance and Technology and minoring in German and Applied Statistics, and my career interests lie in asset and risk management. I am from a small city called Woodhaven from the Downriver (south of Detroit) area, and my interests include entrepreneurship, social change, journaling, ice skating, and card games.
When I first applied to Michigan and Ross, I was looking for a school that could really help me find what I was truly passionate about, and I genuinely found that here at Ross. I came to the university as an uncertain first-generation Chinese American and a first-generation college student, but Michigan and Ross have provided me with so many resources and support to allow me to feel right at home. Ross has an incredibly unique culture and unlimited opportunities (clubs, organizations, events, networks, resources etc.) that allow students to develop as a professional and explore their interests. I am so grateful to have found my place and people within the Michigan community, but even though I am now in my final year, I realize that I have still yet to experience it all.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions as I would be glad to share my experiences and help you learn more about the University of Michigan and the Ross School of Business. Go Blue!
Where is your favorite place to eat in Ann Arbor? My favorite place to eat in Ann Arbor is Rich JC. Spicy food is a great way to destress, and Rich JC has the best spicy Korean food!
