Stephan Garcia

I am Mexican-American, born and raised in El Paso, Texas. Upon graduating from the University of Texas at El Paso with my BBA in Finance, I joined Edward Jones, a financial services firm, as a Fixed Income Trader. As a trader, I made investment decisions, managed risk, and worked in a fast-paced environment that helped me learn how financial markets work. I also became heavily involved in trading analytics projects that helped provide insight for department-level strategic changes. These experiences made me realize I wanted to pursue a career in consulting, where I could leverage my quantitative background to solve business problems and drive strategic change across industries. Being a career switcher with no experience in consulting, I decided to attend Ross for my MBA because of their focus on action-based learning. My long-term goals are to hold a position of city leadership in my hometown where I can leverage my experience in finance and management consulting to better my community.
