Steven Kardel
Prior to the Weekend MBA, I worked at Domino's Pizza for eight years, starting out in its leadership development program. I learned to lead teams by managing corporately-owned restaurants. After that, I leveraged my management experience and operations knowledge to consult franchisees internationally in Northern Europe, Eastern Europe, and the Caucuses.
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Management and Organization at Penn State University. My long-term career goal is to be a business professor at a top research university, splitting my time between research and teaching. During the Weekend MBA, I was able to explore my career calling by leveraging resources at the career development office and speaking to people in the vast University of Michigan community. Midway through the Weekend MBA, I left Domino's Pizza to do a summer internship in consulting; I realized that I am passionate about businesses that aspire to make a positive impact on the world, which is a focus of my research in the PhD program.
I'm happy to answer any questions you have about the Weekend MBA, recruiting, or planning a career transition.
