Sunaina Mathur

Class of 2023

I completed my Bachelor's in Supply Chain Management and Information Systems at Penn State Smeal College of Business in 2015. After graduating, I worked for three years as a strategic planner for Hughes Network Systems (Satellite Internet Services) in Gaithersburg, Maryland. I decided to pursue a master's degree in my field to transition into a more impactful career track. I aspire to become a consultant specializing in sustainable supply chains in the future. Michigan Ross is one the top rated supply chain institutions in the world and I believed the practical and rigorous curriculum would set me up with the right skillset and knowledge to succeed in my career journey. I admire the focus on group assignments. I feel I was missing the experience of working in group settings in my previous job and working with people while maintaining a good team dynamic is an indispensable skill to possess in our jobs. The Master of Supply Chain Management program covers this well while also focusing on individual learning. I also like the technical courses like TO618 and TO640 since they were all new material for me. Additionally, I have made some amazing connections and friends at Ross so far and I am grateful for the diversity of perspectives that my class offers. The Career Development Office (CDO) has been very proactive with providing us with resources for career search, as well as making the most out of our time at Michigan Ross.
