Three Reasons To Love February at Michigan Ross, And Three Reasons To Apply in Round Three
February may be the shortest month, but it’s probably one of the busiest months for the Admissions team and our students.
This month, we’ll be welcoming more than 500 Round Two candidates to Ann Arbor for on-campus interviews — many coming from outside the U.S. including Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Peru, and India. Many more are interviewing with Ross alumni around the world and participating in Team Exercises in Brazil, China and Japan.
Meanwhile, the halls at Ross are buzzing with great events planned and executed by our students. While many of our biggest events throughout the year are focused on careers, this month, they’re focused on the personal side of our community, and taking a pause to understand and share who we are and where we are.
Three Reasons I Love February at Michigan Ross
Earlier this month, more than 230 prospective students, current students and alumni attended the 43rd annual Alfred L. Edwards conference, hosted by our Black Business Students Association. The theme — “Your Journey, Your Compass, Your True North,” focused on aligning our career goals with our values and achieving a semblance of balance and mental health in our professional lives.
We also celebrated Diversity Week, which is a collaboration of more than 20 student clubs hosting a wide range of events to raise awareness of and support for the diverse backgrounds and identities of our students. Two events that I love during Diversity Week are the personal story-sharing by students in our Asian American Business Students Association (and yours truly) on topics like pursuing unconventional interests for Asians like comedy, hockey, and mime; and the impact of growing up with a Tiger Mom. Another popular Diversity Week event is Story Lab, a “Moth-style” storytelling event where students share personal stories of challenge, discovery, and growth.
Last week, students kicked off our first-ever Wellness Week. It features programming and events centered around supporting students’ physical, emotional and mental well-being. Learn about our other mental health and wellness resources to support students during their MBA experience.
Three Reasons To Apply In Round Three
We reserve space in the class for Round Three.
We like Round Three applicants! Every year, many of our best students — academically and leadership-wise — were admitted in Round 3.
There’s no chance of being admitted if you don’t apply.
In case you missed it, check out a recording of our Round 3 App Tips webinar. The Admissions team shared tips on how to pull together a successful app for our final round.
The application deadline is March 18th.
