Michigan Ross Essay Questions and Application Deadlines for 2019-20

Though the halls are quiet with classes having ended at the end of April, our inboxes are buzzing with updates from our MBA2s around the world.
Many are taking Global Immersion Courses in Israel, Germany, or China. Nearly 90 others are exploring Japan and Korea on treks led by classmates. Five students represented Ross in a case competition at InnovateChina. (The Ross team was the only all-U.S. MBA team to make the finals in Shanghai!) Others are stateside on a cross-country roadtrip helping small-business owners solve their business challenges as part of Ross Open Road.
Students will begin their internships in the next couple weeks at places like LinkedIn, Nike, Google, Genentech, and the United Nations. You can meet with some of them for informal cafe chats this summer. It’s a great opportunity to learn about Ross student life, recruiting, and the culture of the school through the eyes of students.
Café Chats
Meet current Ross students in your hometown! During their summer internships, Ross students are happy to meet prospective MBAs and answer questions about curriculum, student life, recruiting, Ann Arbor, and more.
Café ChatsAs for the Admissions team, we’ve already started recruiting for the next class, and there are more events than ever in the early part of the summer. Events are a great opportunity to connect with a school and its alumni before getting into the essay-writing stage. Check out our list of events for a Ross gathering near you.
2019-20 Application Essay Questions
At the end of each admissions cycle, the team assesses whether we should change our essay prompts based on: (1) the quality of the insights we were able to glean from responses; and (2) feedback from applicants and students on whether they felt the essays gave them an opportunity to share something unique about themselves. Based on those criteria, we’ve decided to modify only one of the six short-answer options (in italics below). All others remain the same as last year.
