Michigan Ross Introduces New Blended Learning Executive Education Program
Michigan Ross Executive Education becomes first top-ranked provider to combine MOOCs with in-person instruction in an open-enrollment offering
The University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business announced a new blended learning Executive Education program, Finance for Strategic Decision Making (FSDM). This program combines MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) and face-to-face instruction in an open-enrollment offering, and is the first of its kind among business schools. It combines online learning with traditional in-person instruction for a superior learning experience designed to have a long-term impact. Participants will spend time in Ann Arbor, in addition to taking portions of the course online. They will learn how to apply accounting and finance principles through rigorous exploration of fundamentals as well assessing relevant business cases.
Instructed by Ross Professors Gautam Kaul and Greg Miller, the online components of the program are available on-demand through Coursera and include one of the most popular online courses offered. Upon successful completion of the online portion of the program, participants become eligible to spend two days at Michigan Ross, April 11-12, 2018, where they will learn from faculty and other participants.
“We are excited to introduce this new blended learning program through Michigan Ross Executive Education,” said Melanie Weaver Barnett, Ross’ Chief Executive Education Officer. “Executives and global leaders are juggling the demands of high-level work, family life, and a rigorous business school program. By marrying traditional classroom instruction with online learning, we’re able to meet the needs of today’s executive education participant and help them transform their organizations and careers.”
Executive education at Michigan Ross is one of the leading programs of its kind in the world and was recently ranked in the Top 10 executive education programs overall, according to the Financial Times.
