Career Background

Tamika Curry Smith is a global HR and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) executive with experience leading DEI at Arm, Ltd., Nike, Inc., Mercedes-Benz USA, Target Corporation, and Deloitte. She is a people-centered, data-driven, results-oriented leader whose career spans more than 25 years, both in Corporate America and as an entrepreneur.

Tamika started her career with Deloitte & Touche, where she obtained her CPA license and performed accounting and auditing services. Prior to leading DEI at Deloitte, she was part of the consulting practice, gaining experience in both general management and retail consulting on client engagements focused on strategy, operations, supply chain, and process improvement.

Ms. Curry Smith earned a BBA in Accounting with High Distinction from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. She also obtained an MBA in Organizational Behavior, Strategy, and Marketing from the Kellogg School of Management.

Tamika has shared her expertise as a speaker and facilitator with many organizations, such as the Conference Board, the Society for Human Resource Management, and the National Science Foundation. In addition, Ms. Curry Smith has been featured in numerous publications, including Black Enterprise, the New York Times Magazine, DiversityInc, and Diversity Professional Magazine.

Ms. Curry Smith has received various awards, among them the Network Journal’s 25 Most Influential Black Women in Business, Diversity MBA's Top 100 Under 50 Executive Leaders, AZ Business Magazine’s 50 Most Influential Women in Arizona Business, and the Chairman’s Award from the National Black MBA Association. Ms. Curry Smith is an Aspen Institute Executive Leadership Program alumna and a lifetime member of the National Black MBA Association.

Tamika is currently a LEO Lecturer in the Management & Organizations department at Ross, as well as serving on the Sanger Leadership Center Advisory Board and the Ross Alumni Board of Governors. She also is an advisor to Goldman Sachs, in addition to early stage start-ups and venture capital firms such as Mathison, SemperVirens Venture Capital, and Fearless Fund.
