Our signature Multidisciplinary Action Projects (MAP) course epitomizes the Ross dedication to hands-on learning.

You will work with a sponsor -- a major corporation, startup, or nonprofit -- seeking a creative solution to a critical organizational challenge. Taking place in the summer term, each project requires you to collaborate with a team of peers and a faculty advisor. At the conclusion of the project, you deliver your analysis and recommendations in a formal presentation and written report.

Some projects require teams to create a business strategy, solve a market entry problem, or perform complex financial modeling. Others ask you to generate product launch plans, propose operations improvements, or draft new customer relationship regimens.

To sponsors, MAP delivers actionable, data-driven solutions. To you, MAP delivers a transformative educational experience that brings coursework to life.

Student Stories

“MAP does a great job of putting you in a position where you truly don’t think you have what it takes to accomplish the task at hand -- but you have to anyway. The process of making that big push, holding your breath and making that effort let me learn more about myself and my teammates than I thought I could from a project.”

- Eric Satre, Evening MBA student

“As a career switcher, MAP allowed me to explore a completely new industry, as well as gain experience as a consultant that ended up being a crucial part of my resume for recruiting since I’d had very little client interaction previously. I emphatically recommend MAP to every part-time MBA I meet!”

- Victoria Throckmorton, Evening MBA student

“My biggest gain from the MAP experience was being able to enter a completely unknown industry, and learn how to quickly decipher, from an ocean of information, the critical areas of focus. It was also challenging, yet very satisfying for us as a team – all of whom had very limited background of that industry – to be able to bring together differing viewpoints, learn from each other’s line of thinking, and then coalesce into insightful recommendations for our client.”

- Aneesh Padalkar, Evening MBA student
