TRANSPORTATION TO ANN ARBOR

Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) is located about 25 miles (40 km) east of Ann Arbor on Interstate-94. Detroit Metro Airport has two terminals:

  • McNamara Terminal for Air France, Continental, Delta, and KLM flights
  • North Terminal for Air Canada, Air Tran, American, Frontier, Lufthansa, Royal Jordanian, Southwest, Spririt, United, US Airways and most charter airlines.

To assist you in booking your transportation arrangements from the airport to the Executive Education Center, you will find a variety of options below. Additionally, the Executive Residence front desk staff is available to assist you with arranging return transportation from the Center to the airport.
 

LIMOUSINE SERVICE

The fare is approximately $60 USD one way, plus gratuity. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance with a credit card. You will be met in the baggage claim area upon your arrival.

METRO CARS

This luxury sedan service, available 24 hours a day, is located curbside outside the baggage claim area. Cost is a flat fee of approximately $60 USD one way, plus gratuity. For more information, visit the Metro Cars website.
 

TAXI

Available curbside outside baggage claim, one-way fare to Ann Arbor is approximately $50 USD. Some taxis also accept credit cards, but some will only accept cash. Confirm the payment method with the driver before you leave the airport. Important: Confirm that you want to be taken to the Executive Residence entrance of the Ross School of Business, at East University Avenue and Hill Street.
 

TIPPING PRACTICES

A general practice is to tip approximately 20% for restaurants, 15% for taxi cabs and other services. If you receive assistance at the airport or hotel with your luggage, tip $1-2 USD per bag.

PARKING

As with most university towns, parking at the University of Michigan is extremely limited. The best parking option is at the Forest Ave. Parking Structure, just a few blocks from the Executive Residence. When arriving, first drop your luggage off at the Executive Residence and check in. Instructions for where to park will be given to you at that time. Please follow the instructions closely, as the Ross School of Business is not responsible for parking tickets.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

DIRECTIONS FROM DETROIT METROPOLITAN AIRPORT

Take I-94 WEST toward Ann Arbor. Travel approximately 18 miles and take Exit 180B (US-23 North). Take US-23 for 2.4 miles to Exit 37B (Washtenaw Ave./US-23 Bus. West toward Ann Arbor). Take Washtenaw Ave. about 1.4 miles and then bear right at split with Stadium Blvd., remaining on Washtenaw. Continue for 1.3 miles to Hill Street and turn left. (Large painted boulder at intersection). Take Hill Street 0.4 miles to third stop sign. Turn right on East University Ave. The Executive Residence (710 E. University) is immediately on the left, near the corner of Hill St. and East University. 

DIRECTIONS FROM THE NORTH

Take US-23 SOUTH. Take Exit 45 to M-14 WEST, for 1.5 miles. Exit M-14 at Main Street (Exit 3) Proceed SOUTH for 1.4 miles. Turn left on E. Huron Street, which turns into Washtenaw Avenue after the bend. Turn Right on South University Ave, and take the third left onto East University Avenue. The Executive Residence (710 E. University) is on the right, just before the corner of Hill St. and East University.

DIRECTIONS FROM THE NORTHEAST

From I-96, go SOUTH on US-23. Take M-14 WEST for 1.5 miles. Exit at Main Street (Exit 3) Proceed SOUTH for 1.4 miles. Turn left on E. Huron Street, which turns into Washtenaw Avenue after the bend. Turn Right on South University Ave, and take the third left onto East University Avenue. The Executive Residence (710 E. University) is on the right, just before the corner of Hill St. and East University.

DIRECTIONS FROM THE SOUTH

Take US-23 NORTH to the Washtenaw Avenue exit (Exit 37B). Take Washtenaw Ave. about 1.4 miles and then bear right at split with Stadium Avenue, remaining on Washtenaw. Continue for 1.3 miles to Hill Street and turn left. (Large painted boulder at intersection). Take Hill Street 0.4 miles to third stop sign. Take I-94 EAST to the Jackson Road exit (Exit 172). Merge onto Jackson Road, and continue 3.5 miles. Turn right onto South University Ave. and continue for 0.2 miles, then take the third left onto East University Ave. The Executive Residence (710 E. University) is on the right, just before the corner of Hill St. and East University.
