Career Background

With more than 30 years of experience, Betsy has served as both an internal and external executive coach and consultant for nearly 20 years. She has a unique combination of specialties including organizational development, coaching, counseling, and communications, all of which can be integrated to benefit the client. She is a licensed professional counselor (LPC). Her previous experiences include change management, strategic planning, workshop facilitation, cultural audits, training, executive coaching, individual counseling, and internal and external communications. She has developed and led numerous workshops and seminars. Betsy’s coaching and consulting engagements have been with a variety of clients throughout the country and globally, including for-profit and not-for-profit organizations as well as individuals.

Prior to becoming a coach, she was an executive at General Motors Corporation, first in communications, then in organizational development, working in a wide variety of units and functions. She managed staff in several different operating units and helped facilitate organizational initiatives, such as global leadership communications and large-scale change management efforts, as well as serving as an internal coach in several functions. Betsy also serves as vice chair of The Greening of Detroit.
