Tim joined Michigan Ross in April 2019 as our new Managing Director in our Asia Pacific Regional Office in Hong Kong. Tim brings to Michigan a wealth of international experience in senior learning and organizational development roles, spanning 20+ years, that has seen him working for leading learning organizations in Brunei, Canada, China, Malaysia, Australia, USA and the UK. Tim is a certified facilitator, trainer and coach across a wide number of personality, psychometric and assessment tools.
Responsible for the Michigan Ross Customised Executive Programmes business across the Asia-Pacific Region, Tim himself is a passionate learner and relationship builder and thrives working across multiple cultural contexts. Tim has lived in 14 countries and has worked in many more and has gained considerable experience (in executive development) right across the Asia Pacific Region. Before launching himself into a career in learning and organizational development and setting up his own leadership development practice in Borneo, Tim gained 5 years operational policing experience with the Devon & Cornwall Police in the UK and received a Commendation for Bravery.
Tim’s family currently live in Beijing, China where his wife; Sharon is the Head of Geography at Harrow International School and where their 3 children are schooled. Originally from the UK, Tim and his family now call Perth, Western Australia ‘Home’ and they visit there (and Europe) whenever they get a free moment from work commitments and travels elsewhere across the globe!
Tim has a BA in International Management from Charles Sturt University (Australia) and also holds a number of professional certifications from his many years of work experience globally. Tim is a certified Outward Bound Instructor and Sailing Coach and spent 3 years working as a National Sailing Coach in Fiji. A keen sailor, he also took part in the 2009-10 Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.
