It’s The First Day of Spring and There Are So Many Reasons To Be Happy

Share

As the first day of spring comes to life across the northern hemisphere, North America’s cold, snowy winter is officially over.

But, there are many more reasons than just that to be clapping along with Pharrell.

For one, it’s the International Day of Happiness!

The United Nations is asking the world to come together today to remember and celebrate happiness in all of its forms.

Join us in celebrating on Twitter and Instagram with the #HappinessDay tag.  If you’re happy to be a Ross student or alum, tell us why.

We’re giving away free ice cream!

UPDATE: Date Corrected.

On Friday, March 28, we’re teaming up with the School of Information and Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream to, well, make people happy!

The Ice Cream Social event will take place at Rackham Auditorium at 2 p.m. Friday, March 28.

Jeff Furman, chairman of the board of directors for Ben & Jerry’s, will be on hand to discuss how running a company with a social justice mission isn’t easy. And he’ll sign books and pass out ice cream along the way.

Tweet to let us know you'll be joining us for the talk at 2 p.m. Friday.

Happiness is good for the workplace

As a study from Michigan Ross’ Gretchen Spreitzer points out, a work culture that supports happiness can pay off in the bottom line.

It saved Prudential millions of dollars and can increase employee performance by double digit percentages. The study was recently profiled in Live Happy magazine and the Detroit Free Press.

Spreitzer and other positive business leaders and experts will be on hand in May for Ross’ first-ever Positive Business Conference, and registration is now open.

Commencement is around the corner

Not that you should be happy that your time at Ross is ending (#ForeverGoBlue), but great careers across the globe are on the horizon for the class of 2014!
