When the White House calls, you answer.

Michigan Ross Dean Alison Davis-Blake was proud to do so recently when she, along with deans from other top business schools around the country, was invited to the White House to talk about the issues facing women and families related to work and business education.  

Led by top officials from the Obama administration as well as executives from the Council of Economic Advisers, the meeting was focused on best practices for business schools to better prepare students for the increasing importance of women in the labor force and the prevalence of employees with families where all parents work.  

As one of the few female deans of a top-ranked business school and a leader in promoting positive business practices, Dean Davis-Blake had a great deal to bring to the discussion.

“I was honored to join my colleagues who serve as deans of leading business schools around the United States to discuss how business schools can both help enhance the success of women in business and support the success of families where all breadwinners are participating fully in the labor force,” said Davis-Blake.

“Like other vital economic problems, creating conditions that permit working families to succeed economically and to thrive as families will require the cooperation of business and government. Business schools can play an important role in facilitating that cooperation.”
