The Financial Times is highlighting Michigan Ross’ leadership in online business education this month, citing the fact that more than one million people have enrolled in Ross online courses through Coursera since they debuted in 2012.

From the Financial Times, “Educators embrace forces of change in online learning”:

“Alison Davis-Blake, dean of the University Of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, claims that demand for traditional programmes has risen even as her staff members have seen strong demand for the online courses put on the Coursera platform.

“Almost 850,000 people have enrolled on Michigan Ross’s most popular course on the Coursera platform, Introduction to Finance, since it was launched in 2012. Its successful Mooc on negotiation skills has attracted close to 430,000 enrolments since it launched in October 2014.”

Both courses are currently available on Coursera, taught by Gautam Kaul and George Siedel, respectively. Also available is a five-course specialization on Leading People and Teams, taught by a variety of popular Michigan Ross professors.

Ross and the University of Michigan will also begin offering classes on the EdX platform this spring, in partnership with the Office of Digital Education and Innovation. The first EdX course, Finance for Everyone, will be from Professor Gautam Kaul, and is set to begin April 5. Free enrollment is open currently.
