Desai Accelerator, ZLI Welcome Six New Ventures for Summer Program

Share

Six up-and-coming startups have secured a coveted spot in a summer program from the Zell Lurie Institute’s (ZLI) Desai Accelerator that looks to give their businesses the jumpstart they need to take the next step.

The summer program of the Desai Accelerator, a joint venture between ZLI and the U-M Center for Entrepreneurship (CFE), welcomed the six companies to their newest class of entrepreneurs earlier this spring. Each company received an investment of $25,000 and access to resources and significant mentorship opportunities from ZLI, CFE, and the U-M alumni network. More than 80 businesses applied for a spot in the program. Of those selected, 83 percent are Michigan-based companies.

These are the six companies that will be working at Desai for the summer:

Ash & Erie

Founders Steven Mazur and Eric Huang are developing Ash & Erie, a clothier providing clothes to shorter men. Mazur and Huang, who are both considered less than the average male height, created the company to fill “a real life need.”
