Two Ross Alums Make List of Top Women in Technology

Still early in their careers, two Michigan Ross MBAs have been recognized for their accomplishments, vision, and talents in the technology industry.

Afua Bruce, MBA ‘11, and Priyanka Komala, MBA ‘13, are finalists for the Women In Technology (WIT) 18th Annual Leadership Awards. WIT is the premier organization supporting professional women in the Washington, D.C. tech industry.

Komala, pictured above, works for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, where she directs technology strategy and development. She was nominated in the “Rising Star” category.

Bruce, pictured below, serves as the Executive Director of the National Science and Technology Council at the White House, a cabinet-level group chaired by the President. She was nominated for leadership excellence in government.

"This year’s WIT Leadership Award finalists have been chosen from the largest pool of entries we’ve had to date and represent some of the most accomplished women in the Washington region technology industry,” said Kathryn Harris, President of WIT. “The diversity of companies and skills represented reminds us that there are numerous paths to success and diverse industries touched by technology. We look forward to celebrating these inspiring women later this Spring.”

WIT will announce the winners at its Leadership Awards Gala on May 11.

Congratulations to Bruce and Komala!
