Michigan Ross MBAs Sweep National Deloitte Case Competition, Winning First Place and People's Choice Awards

Congratulations are in order for four Michigan Ross MBAs who took home impressive honors in a nation-wide case competition sponsored by Deloitte earlier this year.

First-year MBAs Andrea Schiff, Jake Corness, Jason Rock, and Jess McClain took home the first-place win as well as the People’s Choice Award, which was voted on by the 15 other competing teams from top b-schools. They received a $20,000 prize and summer internship offers.

The team was given just ten hours to complete the task of creating a recommendation for sweetgreen, a fast-casual restaurant that offers healthy, sustainably-sourced meals.

“Our idea was to create a new carry-out dinner option, sweetnightin, which allows busy professionals and families to get quick, convenient, family-style entrees to help host occasions like family dinners, date nights, and girls' nights,” McClain said.

They pitched the concept to judges from sweetgreen, Deloitte, and industry experts from Lyft, Dollar Shave Club, and Wood's Produce.

“It was an awesome learning experience and we were happy to bring home the win for Ross!” McClain said.

Congratulations to the team and Go Blue!
