A Little Friendly Photo Booth Competition — Which Section Will Win?

National Coming Out Day, on Oct. 11, is a day observed annually by the LGBTQ community and its allies. It highlights the progress that has been made towards inclusion and equality, and celebrates as well as brings further awareness to the LGBTQ community.

I’m working with the Ross Out For Business (OFB) Club to host a series of celebrations leading up to Oct. 11 this year — and we need your help!

We’re setting up a table in the Winter Garden throughout the week during lunch hours for allies to express their support through signing an ally pledge, and participating in a photo booth and social media challenge.

Oh, and colorful stickers, pins, and other giveaways will be in abundance! It’s going to be fun, so I hope that you’ll join us in building support, acceptance, and an even stronger Ross community.

Update #1: Tuesday, Oct 7

Thank you to everyone who came out for day one of the OFB Coming Out Week Ally Pledge / Photo Contest! We gathered 63 signatures for the FriendFactor Ally Pledge (read more about the nationwide MBA challenge here) and had a lot of maize and blue fun at our photo booth. We will be gathering signatures throughout the week and encourage students, faculty, and admissions please feel free to stop by and pledge your support.

Be sure to tag yourself in your pictures and share with your friends because the picture with the most ‘likes’ tomorrow and each person tagged in it will earn five points (each!) for his/her BBA class or MBA section. Congratulations to Wacey Turner and Joey Hartman for having the most 'liked' photo from day one!
 

Speaking of points, we have a tie! MBA sections 1 & 4 are currently leading the pack in the competition for the National Coming Out Week Trophy with MBA Section 5 in second place. Keep up the ‘friendly’ competition! 

Update #2: Wednesday, Oct 8

Thank you for continuing to show your support during day two of the OFB Coming Out Week Ally Pledge / Photo Contest! We gathered 112 (triple digits!) signatures for the FriendFactor Ally Pledge from students, admissions, faculty, and staff alike, and even incorporated some rainbow props into our step-and-repeat booth! If you still haven't been able to join in on the fun, we will be gathering signatures through Thursday and encourage everyone to please stop by and pledge your support.

Don't forget to tag yourself and share with your friends as the conquest for the OFB National Coming Out Week section trophy is on! 

Congratulations to Section 4 for having the most 'liked' photo from day two! In addition, an extra shout out is in order for the Admissions and Program offices, Section 1, and Section 5 for very strong showings at the photo booth on Tuesday! Remember, you can win the 'most liked' photo on Facebook more than once so be sure to visit the step and repeat early and often!

And now, the moment you have been waiting for... points! Section 4 is leading the pack, followed by Section 1 and Section 5. We can't wait to see who takes (or keeps) the lead tomorrow!

Update #3 - Friday, Oct 10

And now, the winner of the section ally challenge:

With a fantastic finish SECTION 4 has edged out SECTION 1 for the win, STEALING the trophy from last year's winner SECTION 5!

Spectacular efforts from the Ross faculty, staff, and sections 2, 3, and 6 as well!

Please congratulate section 4 on their outstanding performance this week. We'll be hosting a separate celebration for them soon.

While the section contest may be over, we as Ross are still in competition with other business schools to show our ally support! 

In fact, we are only 150 signatures away from taking the top spot away from Columbia and Kellogg. If you didn't have a chance to sign the pledge, below for your reference, this week, sign it electronically:
