Andrea McHale
Director, Full-Time and Global MBA Admissions
About Me: Andrea McHale has 10 years of industry experience in marketing, sales, and supply chain management within healthcare and automotive. In 2013, she transitioned to education administration. Prior to joining the Ross MBA team, she worked as the director of admissions for Michigan State University’s Broad MBA program. She has a BA and MBA from Michigan State University, an MS from the University of Michigan, and is currently pursuing her doctorate of business administration from the University of Florida. In her free time she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, playing tennis, and traveling.
Favorite Thing About Ann Arbor: I love that Ann Arbor is a walkable town with many restaurants, cafes, and shops.
Favorite Event at Ross: I enjoy in-person events including campus visits, RWW, UpClose, and Military Preview.
Advice for Prospective Students: Stay true to yourself and be authentic. This allows you to take time to understand your "why" and seek the "how" to achieve your goals.
Digna Patel Raj
Associate Director, Full-Time MBA Admissions
About Me: Digna is a University of Michigan alumnus and earned her master of health services administration from the School of Public Health. She has 12 years of professional experience in healthcare management and pivoted into higher education five years ago. She genuinely enjoys admissions work, specifically the relationship building with students and colleagues. Digna is a self-proclaimed podcast junkie and avid reader who loves to travel and enjoys spending time with her husband Raghu (who often sports Michigan gear and says Go Blue even though he is not an alum), her daughter, Neha, and her son, Nikhil.
Favorite Thing About Ann Arbor: It's a big city packaged in a nice, quaint town. I love the restaurants, shops, cultural offerings, and the Ann Arbor Art Fair in downtown AA is my personal favorite.
Favorite Event at Ross: GBR, hands-down. Admitted students show up to Ross with incredible enthusiasm and we get to showcase the best that Ross has to offer.
Advice for Prospective Students: Be intentional. Take time to reflect on why you want to pursue an MBA and why you want to pursue it at Ross. An MBA is a significant commitment from many different aspects and it's important to choose a program that reflects your values, is a strong cultural fit, and will ultimately help you succeed professionally.
Sarah Haggerty
Assistant Director, Full-Time MBA Admissions
About Me: Sarah is a Michigan native and earned her BSBA at Central Michigan University where her passion for leadership and education emerged. She began her career in the beauty industry, working in product education and event management in Michigan and NYC before she transitioned into higher education in 2021. In her prior role, she served as an Assistant Director of Admissions with a focus on strategic territory management, event planning, relationship building, and social media content creation. Sarah enjoys reading, traveling, going to concerts, and spending time with her family and friends.
Favorite Thing About Ann Arbor: The thriving small business community! From independent restaurants to bookshops, record stores, or the farmers' market there is always something new to explore and support.
Favorite Event at Ross: Any In-person event but specifically GBR. It’s a great way to meet other students, connect with current students, and discover the best of Ann Arbor!
Advice for Prospective Students: Get involved and participate in virtual and in-person events. It is an important step in the research process to understand Ross and the student experience firsthand.
Lauren La Rosa
Marketing and Event Coordinator, Full-Time MBA Admissions
About Me: Lauren moved to Ann Arbor from Virginia with her partner, a current MBA student, and her dog, Flo. Previously a paralegal for a construction company, she is a career switcher herself, and new to the higher education space. Lauren is looking forward to growing in this role and connecting with current and prospective students. Lauren enjoys running, cheering on the Michigan football team and exploring new restaurants in Ann Arbor.
Favorite Thing About Ann Arbor: I enjoy walking my dog, Flo, to our favorite coffee shop on Sundays. I also love the community in Ann Arbor. It has a very exciting and close-knit feeling that extends to the Ross student body as well!
Favorite Event at Ross: I love all of the cultural events like the annual Diwali Party, Latin Vibes, and Food, Friends and Culture. It is really exciting to see students explore new cultures. As a partner, I was able to go on Colombia Trek during spring break, and it was a week I will always remember.
Advice for Prospective Students: Do your research! The MBA experience is a very impactful time in your life. Who do you want as your friends/classmates? What do you want your two years to look like? How do you want to enrich your MBA experience outside of the classroom?
Lysa Wang
Associate Director, Full-Time and Global MBA Admissions
About Me: Lysa is from Wuhan, China but immigrated to the U.S. when she was six and has since lived in Florida, Georgia, and now Michigan. She has over 11 years of experience in higher education, despite starting her career as a pre-med student at Emory University. Before Ross, she lived and worked in Beijing for eight years leading international recruitment and engagement for a top-five business school. During that time, she also received her MBA and worked for a biotech start-up before returning to admissions, where her passion lies. Lysa enjoys yoga, kickboxing, traveling, trying new cuisines, and spending time with her son, Nathan.
Favorite Thing About Ann Arbor: Kayaking down the Huron River in Gallup Park, a 69-acre park and one of AA's most popular recreation areas!
Favorite Event at Ross: Vetx, & Food, Friends, and Culture (Lunar New Year event) - you’ll hear amazing stories and learn about different cultures!
Advice for Prospective Students: Always take some time to reflect on your personal and professional experiences so you have a "bank" of impactful stories to share in your application and interview.
Matt Ganderson
Managing Director, Full-Time and Global MBA Programs
About Me: Matt started his career as a professional school counselor before earning an MBA and pivoting to the corporate sector, where he worked at Frito-Lay in marketing. While he has a background in both business and education, he found his passion in business education. Prior to Michigan Ross, he served as the executive director of the MBA program at Wake Forest University. Personally, his wife, Lisa, is a Ross alum (Go Blue!) and they are parents to Ezra and Sylvie. He attended Wake Forest University and earned his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
Favorite Thing About Ann Arbor: The close-knit community and cultural diversity.
Favorite Event at Ross: Orientation, as it's the first time the entire incoming class is together to celebrate an important milestone and begin forging new relationships.
Advice for Prospective Students: Be authentic throughout the admissions process and speak with as many current students and alumni as you can.
Melissa Coveney
Associate Director, Full-Time MBA Admissions
About Me: Melissa is new to Michigan, the Midwest, and cold weather! Originally from the Bay Area of California and an alumna of Saint Mary's College, she began her career in independent K-12 education, where her love for admissions emerged. Her background consists largely of admissions event planning and management, where she has served as the lead coordinator for open houses, student visit days, admitted student weekends, recruitment fairs, campus tours, and information sessions across both in-person and virtual platforms at multiple institutions. She is a self-described "school person" at heart, her favorite part of the job being the relationships she builds with students as they navigate this important stage in their lives.
Favorite Thing About Ann Arbor: The football culture that palpates throughout the town - GO BLUE is a lifestyle!
Favorite Event at Ross: Go Blue Rendezvous, our admitted student weekend. The energy and excitement is infectious as students begin meeting one another and envisioning themselves at Ross. Our student ambassadors are the backbone of this event: their love for Ross shines brightly as they come together to help us put on an epic weekend!
Advice for Prospective Students: Clarity is key. Know why you want to get your MBA, the story you want to tell through your application, and the goals you have for yourself after graduation.
Michelle Pava
Associate Director, Full-Time MBA Admissions
About Me: Michelle relocated to Michigan from Miami, FL and is now proud to call Ann Arbor her home! Before coming to Ross, she received her BBA in finance from Florida International University and spent six years working in audit and risk management across the corporate sector, including Royal Caribbean and PwC. She now serves as our Associate Director of Admissions and heads our Diversity Recruiting for the Full-Time MBA Program, forging partnerships with various organizations including MLT, the Consortium, and Access. Her husband, Abid, is a recent Michigan Ross alum, and they have enjoyed settling down in Ann Arbor with their dog, Teddy.
Favorite Thing About Ann Arbor: Trying different coffee shops, with my favorite being RoosRoast.
Favorite Event at Ross: UpClose Diversity and Ross Women's Weekend; it's a chance for our prospective students to come together and get to know Ross through the perspective of our diverse community.
Advice for Prospective Students: You are your own biggest critic - don't let imposter syndrome stop you from going after what you deserve! Bring family and friends in on your journey. Let them read your essays, review your resume, and provide feedback on your story.
Lindsay DiAngelo
Assistant Director of Admissions, Full-Time MBA Admissions
About Me: Lindsay is a higher education administration professional focused in domestic and international admissions/recruitment, yield/enrollment, operations, event execution, career advising, supervision of student staff, budgeting and finances, student programming/activities and executing logistics for professional development programs. She has earned both of her degrees from the University of North Florida and spent time working for the university in student affairs support roles while pursuing her Masters in higher education. She then moved back to her hometown of Buffalo, NY to work at the State University of New York, Buffalo where she served in graduate admissions at their School of Engineering & Applied Sciences where she managed all aspects of the admissions process. With her combination of graduate admissions experience, event and marketing management and strong background in higher education, she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our team to help us continue to be the leaders and best.
Favorite Thing About Ann Arbor: I love the energy in Ann Arbor. I think it is an A+ college town that is walkable with amazing food, coffee shops, sports, arts and farmers markets for everyone to enjoy.
Advice for Prospective Students: Spend the time to research programs to determine the right fit for you and your career goals in the future. Make sure that you have had time enough time working in industry to determine what you would like to focus on while in graduate school. It is a big commitment and a time to learn new things and expand your knowledge and thinking so it is important to come with an open mind and be willing to get out of your comfort zone and journey into more of a global community.
