Career Background

Alex Cater is the principal and lead consultant of the Cater Investment Group (CIG), a consulting and investment firm which possesses deep expertise in finance, operations, and technology solutions. Alex spearheads CIG’s financial and operations practice where he works with clients to support buy-side M&A, new market entry, and operational enhancement such as post-merger integration and organizational transformations.

Prior to CIG, Alex was the Head of M&A, Joint Ventures, and Strategic Initiatives at Samsung Biologics in Korea. While at Samsung, he executed large deals such as the acquisition of SmartThings and Harman in addition to leading growth of Samsung Electronics’ Southeast Asia growth strategy. He has over a decade of experience in management consulting at Booz Allen Hamilton where he supported projects in both the public and private sector with a focus on information technology function.

Alex has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Ross School at University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
