How do I get to Ann Arbor?

If you are flying, please book your tickets to Detroit International Airport (DTW). Detroit is a Delta Airlines hub, but is also serviced by most other major airlines. The airport is a 30-minute drive from the University of Michigan campus. Options for travel to Ann Arbor from the airport include:

  • Taxis from the airport to Ann Arbor typically cost ~$50-$60.
  • Uber/Lyft rides from the airport to Ann Arbor typically cost ~$30-$40.
  • The Michigan Flyer/Air/Ride is available for $22 round trip with advance purchase.

Where is Michigan Ross located?

The main entrance to Michigan Ross is located at 701 Tappan Ave in Ann Arbor, MI. Once you arrive in the main lobby, please follow the signs for check-in.

Should I consider renting a car for the weekend?

Michigan Ross will provide free shuttle service to and from the Holiday Inn & Suites Ann Arbor Univ. Michigan Area and Hampton Inn Ann Arbor South for the weekend. We have a room block at the Hyatt Place, and the Courtyard by Marriott is centrally located between a few other hotel options.

If you drive or rent a car, we encourage you to leave your car at your hotel, as parking at the University of Michigan is extremely limited. However, should you need to drive to campus, there are several public parking lots allocated throughout Ann Arbor that typically cost about $1.30 per hour. The most convenient parking structure to the Ross School of Business is the Forest Avenue Parking Structure located at 650 S Forest Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48104

Is my partner or significant other welcome and will there be activities planned for them?

YES! Partners and significant others are welcome at Go Blue Rendezvous and they are strongly encouraged to attend! GBR provides an exceptional opportunity for partners and significant others to meet other Ross Partners, learn about the Ann Arbor area, experience the Michigan Ross culture, and address any concerns they might have.

A number of events are designed specifically for partners. Partner registration  should be completed when the admitted student completes their registration. All attendees must comply with the vaccination requirements for the weekend.

Can I bring my children?

Although Michigan Ross is a very family-friendly business school, most of the activities planned during Go Blue Rendezvous are not well-suited for children.

Do I need to attend the entire GBR weekend?

We strongly encourage you to attend all of the formal Go Blue Rendezvous events to learn as much as you can about Michigan Ross, our academics, our culture, and whether the school is a good fit for you. The social events on Friday and Saturday evening also provide a great opportunity to meet the Michigan Ross community and your future classmates.

What will my expenses be for the weekend?

We will provide free shuttle service for event programming to and from the Holiday Inn & Suites Ann Arbor Univ. Michigan Area and Hampton Inn Ann Arbor South, the Ross School of Business, and some special Ann Arbor destinations. Dinner on Friday, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and brunch on Sunday are on us. You are responsible for the cost of airfare, accommodations, ground transportation, and any other meals.

Where should I stay?

Ann Arbor has numerous accommodation options including hotels and Airbnbs.

There is a grouping of hotels that we suggest booking at, and we will provide shuttle service from designated locations in that group of hotels. Those hotels are located off of Victors Way or Boardwalk Drive. To name a few: Hyatt Place Ann Arbor, Courtyard by Marriott, Sheraton Ann Arbor Hotel, Hampton Inn Ann Arbor South, Holiday Inn & Suites, Fairfield Inn by Marriott.

The shuttles will pick up and drop off from the Holiday Inn & Suites Ann Arbor Univ. Michigan Area and the Hampton Inn Ann Arbor South for the weekend. You can walk to either hotel for shuttle service if you are staying close by.

The following room block is still available for bookings at a discounted rate:

Hampton Inn Ann Arbor South
925 Victors Way
Ann Arbor, MI 48108
(734) 665-5000
Booking link, block available until April 5

I want to visit campus, but I can't come to the GBR Weekend.

You're welcome to visit campus on your own, but please note that the Admissions office won't have any organized programming and class visits won’t be available.

What type of clothing will I need for Ann Arbor?

Dress for all events is casual, and maize and blue are always encouraged! Formal attire is not required for any event. Weather in Ann Arbor can be fairly unpredictable in April, so please come prepared to dress for both warm and chilly temperatures (layers are a great idea). Your best bet is to check the weather before you leave and pack accordingly.

I am not sure if I will be able to make it to GBR. How long do I have to decide? Can I come to the Weekend, even if I didn’t register by the deadline?

The registration deadline for GBR is March 31, 2022, and we encourage you to register today! Everyone wishing to attend the weekend must register by the deadline - this applies to admitted students and partners. Partner registration should be completed when the admitted student completes their registration. We will not accept late registrants or walk-ins.
