Career Background

George is a financial services/fintech CEO, board director, investor, and general manager with deep experience leading the growth of proprietary trading businesses through to scaling and growing disruptors across the fintech sector. 

In his two decades as a partner with PEAK6 Investments, George has managed several businesses, including running the trading desk, developing new business with exchanges and institutional partners, and directing market-making operations. He was most recently Interim CEO for National Flood Services, a PEAK6 portfolio company and leader in flood insurance solutions. George also played an integral role in building PEAK6’s InsurTech sector, including closing two deals and serving as an advisor to the CEOs of those businesses. 

Prior, George was the CEO of OptionsHouse, an online retail brokerage started by PEAK6. He joined the consumer retail brokerage in 2008 and grew the customer base, hired and developed the executive team, created operational efficiencies and scaled the business to profitability. In August 2014, he successfully led the sale of OptionsHouse to global growth investor, General Atlantic. 

George joined PEAK6 in 1999 as a senior trader. He began his career with SBC O’Connor (later UBS), one of the earliest innovators in trading and markets. 

George previously served as Vice Chairman and advised senior leaders at One Million Degrees, an organization that empowers low-income, highly motivated community college students. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
