Career Background

Don Sechler is the Chief Financial Officer for Blumhouse Games. In his role, he oversees corporate finance, strategic planning, and business operations for the company. Before joining Blumhouse Games, Sechler headed finance, operations, and strategy for Sony PlayStation's publisher and developer relations function, where he helped to structure and execute business development deals totaling over $1B for the development, marketing, and distribution of games ranging from the largest IP in video games to first time developers. Upon joining the team in 2013, he was a key team member reforming the culture of PlayStation's relationship with third party game creators, culminating in the investment of over $150 million in indie game content, generating significant returns for creators. He also created the team that advises game makers on industry best practices that help optimize the engagement and monetization of their content.

Prior to joining PlayStation, Sechler spent five years at Pantheon Ventures, where he invested in private equity and venture capital companies, funds, and portfolios across a broad range of industries, and three years at Lehman Brothers, where he advised technology industry clients on M&A, LBO, and capital raising transactions, including the IPO of a mobile gaming company and the second-largest technology LBO in history.

Don holds an MBA with High Distinction from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, a BS in Finance from Barrett, The Honors College and the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, and is a native of Phoenix, Arizona. He serves on the Board of Directors of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Co-Ed Business Fraternity.
