Estimated tuition rates for the MBAn program are defined for students entering Summer 2022, and include Summer 2022, Fall 2022, and Winter 2023 semesters. MBAn Cohort 2023 tuition rates will be approved by the University of Michigan Board of Regents and posted in July 2022. All tuition rates are subject to Regents’ approval and change.

Who Should Apply

Our MBAn program is designed for recent, high-achieving graduates. We look for applicants who: 

  • Have 0-2 years work experience 
  • Are comfortable with complex data and ambiguity 
  • Exhibit a tendency to solve problems and offer solutions
  • Aspire to lead in an area of business about which they are passionate

Prerequisite Requirements

MBAn applicants must have a strong curiosity and passion for quantitative study. Students with a degree that indicates quantitative aptitude are preferred, but those with other backgrounds who have significant quantitative interest and ability are encouraged to apply. Examples of quantitative degrees include (but are not limited to): accounting, actuarial science, bioinformatics, business, computer science, economics, engineering, information, statistics, and mathematics.

Candidates are required to satisfy the equivalent of three prerequisite courses prior to starting the Master of Business Analytics:

  • Calculus 1
  • Calculus 2
  • Introduction to Statistics

For a course to meet our prerequisite requirements:

  • It must be taken in a classroom setting (not online)*
  • A grade of "C" or better must be earned
  • Courses must be taken for degree-applicable credit and be reflected on the student's transcript. Students who have earned college credit for AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics will also satisfy the respective prerequisite.

Admitted students should also be familiar with Python or R before starting the program. 

* Courses offered online due to the COVID-19 pandemic will fulfill prerequisite requirements. These courses must have been taken between March, 2020 - July 2021.

In winter term, cross-functional business electives are made available for students to self-select the topics they find most interesting and want to learn more about.
