What is the +Impact Studio Course?

Impact Studio

Learn how to translate research into real-world solutions with positive impact.  Gain the innovative mindset, process, and skills that will be in-demand with top employers by tackling big societal challenges. Throughout this 4.5-credit course, you'll work in teams of graduate students from across disciplines, including Master of Social Work (MSW), Master of Public Policy (MPP), and Master in Urban Planning (MUP).

Projects for the 2020-2021 academic year include working with local businesses and nonprofits to design solutions for their pandemic-related challenges and increase their resiliency.

CoFund: An emergent-need funding platform that supports nonprofits in providing financial assistance to the unbanked and credit-invisible people in their communities.

MyPath: A phone-based app designed to help high schoolers and their counselors make personalized, informed decisions about post-secondary pathways.

Opportunity Equity Pledge: Graduating students pledge 12 hours of service a year to improving social capital for future students who may not have had the same opportunities.

Waterwise: A web-based solution that accumulates water quality data and resources into one, easy-to-use platform.
