Maize and Blue Fund is a student-managed investment fund, responsible for managing assets on behalf of the Michigan Ross. Founded in 2000 by Professor Richard Sloan, the fund contributes to the Ross School’s action-based curriculum by providing relevant, real-time learning experience for both MBA and BBA students. This platform allows students to apply the concepts of asset valuation, equity research and portfolio management in the real world.
The trading floor has 12 student terminals and 1 instructor terminal. The lab is open to anyone who is taking a class or part of a club at Michigan Ross; however, priority is placed on students that require the specialized financial software for their class.
Each month, a list is compiled of 100 stocks that appear on our custom 'torpedo' screen. The list is formed from analyzing Value, Momentum, Quality, Predictability and other factors.
