Jordan Teramo
Mr. Teramo is a specialist in leveraged capital structure investing and portfolio management, with over 28 years of experience. He has excellent and proven fund raising skills, with an extensive network of investors. He is a successful negotiator on fund fees and terms. He also has strong managerial skills, establishing industry standards and managing research, investing, operations and administrative functions at several firms. He graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Economics, with Distinction, and was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society. He also holds a certificate from The Wharton School in the Economics of Blockchain and Digital Assets.
Mr. Teramo started his career as a distressed and high yield analyst at Banco Santander, and was then a credit arbitrage analyst and trader for Goldman Sachs. From there, he went to Mackay Shields as part of a team of five professionals hired to manage what was then 50% of the firm’s fixed income assets. He co-managed a top performing, $800 million high yield portfolio. In 2007, Mr. Teramo joined Brigade Capital Management as a Founding Partner and PortfolioManager. During his tenure here, he contributed to the growth of assets from $125 million in 2007 to $11+ billion at the end of 2011. While there, Mr. Teramo managed long/short, capital structure arbitrage, high yield and distressed securities across the capital structure. From Brigade, Mr. Teramo went to Magnetar Capital as a Co-Portfolio Manager for a new event-driven desk, seeded with $100M. While there he incubated and executed a unique investment strategy along with his team. By design and with the support of Magnetar, Mr. Teramo and his team spun out to launch Anandar Capital.
In 2014, at Anandar, Mr. Teramo was Co-Founder, President, Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of Credit in the event-driven space, investing across the capital structure, utilizing long, short and capital structure arbitrage strategies.
In 2017, Mr. Teramo joined CIFC Asset Management as a Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of Long/Short Credit for what was then the new Credit Hedge Fund. Under his leadership, the fund outperformed its benchmark by over 500bp. Mr. Teramo also marketed the fund and won a $225 million separately managed account, and expanded the firm’s bond business more broadly, building untapped relationships.
In 2021, Mr. Teramo went to Stratos as a Managing Partner and Portfolio Manager. He had been hired to manage and grow the private credit fund which invested in small and early-stage companies. He was also successful in doubling the AUM of that fund, and for raising capital for other credit products for the firm.
Presently, Mr. Teramo is a Member of the Board of Directors for AIMIA (AIM on the Toronto Stock Exchange), where he sits on the Audit, Finance and Risk Committee; the Investment Committee; and the Human Resources and Compensation Committee. Separately, he is also on the Advisory Committee of Maxim Capital, LP, a commercial real estate lending firm; and on the Advisory Committee of Hatzimemos/Libby-CityRock, LP, a venture firm that focuses on high growth businesses that add value to society. Mr. Teramo’s interests include golf; racket sports including Squash, Padel and Pickle Ball, as well as interest and participation in a variety of other athletics. He is also a wine enthusiast.
