Robert Hutchens
Robert Hutchens is the President & CEO of StemBioSys, a regenerative medicine biotech company based in San Antonio, TX. Using a proprietary platform technology - HPME®, StemBioSys is focusing on a range of potential applications in the area of regenerative medicine. He has been in this role for just over three years.
Hutchens is relatively new to the entrepreneurial biotech world. Prior to StemBioSys, he spent 25 years in management consulting. His last position in the field was as partner with Booz & Company (now a member of the PWC network and known as Strategy&) in New York.
During his nearly 25 years in management consulting, most of Hutchens' work was with clients in the life sciences industry. His clients included a number of major pharmaceutical companies as well as a range of medical device and life science tool companies. While at Booz, Hutchens also spent many years working with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the President’s Emergency Program for Aids Relief (PEPFAR).
Hutchens has a Bachelor of Business Administration with distinction from Michigan Ross and a Master of Business Administration in finance and operations from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Hutchens is married and has two children. His wife Randi was also a management consultant throughout most of her career. Randi retired from Deloitte Consulting, where she was a partner in their financial services practice.
